Your images are compressed on your own device and are never uploaded to us

The short version

Your images never reach us. PixSip compresses and converts images entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly. There is no upload endpoint, no storage bucket, and no retention period to explain, because the files never leave the device you are sitting at. Load the page, disconnect from the internet, and the compressor keeps working — that is the test, and you can run it yourself.

The rest of this policy covers the small amount of ordinary account data we do handle if you create an account or buy a plan.

Images and files you compress

  • Images you drop into PixSip are decoded, re-encoded, and handed back inside your browser tab.
  • They are never transmitted to PixSip or to any third party.
  • They are held in your browser's memory only, and released when you clear the batch or close the tab. Nothing is written to a server.
  • Because we never receive them, we cannot read, scan, back up, restore, or hand over your images — to anyone, for any reason.

Information we do collect

If you only use the compressor, the answer is: nothing that identifies you.

If you create an account or buy a plan, we collect:

  • Account information — your email address, your name if you provide one, and an encrypted password or the identifier returned by your chosen sign-in provider.
  • Billing information — handled by our payment processor. We receive a customer reference, the plan you bought, and its status. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Support correspondence — the contents of messages you send us through the contact form or by email, so we can answer them.
  • Server logs — standard request logs, including IP address and user agent, retained for a short period for security and abuse prevention.

How we use it

  • To give you access to the plan you paid for.
  • To process payments, renewals, and refunds.
  • To answer your support messages.
  • To send service email you would expect: receipts, password resets, and notices about changes to your plan.
  • To keep the service secure and available.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

Who we share it with

Only the processors we need to run the service:

  • Payment processor — to take payment and manage subscriptions.
  • Email provider — to deliver transactional email.
  • Hosting provider — Cloudflare, which serves the site and stores account data.

Each one receives only what its job requires. None of them receive your images, because we do not have them.

Cookies and analytics

PixSip sets a session cookie when you sign in. That is a strictly necessary cookie: without it you cannot stay logged in. See our Cookie Policy for the full picture.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of your account data at any time by writing to us. Deleting your account removes your account record and ends any active subscription. You can also delete your account yourself from your account settings.

If you are in the EU or UK, you have these rights under the GDPR and may also complain to your local supervisory authority. If you are in California, you have equivalent rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.

Data retention

Account and billing records are kept for as long as your account is active, and afterwards only as long as tax and accounting law requires us to keep the invoice. Support messages are kept while they are useful for context, and then deleted.

Children

PixSip is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be announced by email to account holders.
