About

An image should not have to travel to get smaller.

Every other compression tool asks you to upload first. Your photo leaves your laptop, crosses the internet, lands on a machine you do not control, gets compressed there, and comes back. PixSip removes that round trip entirely: up to 20 images per batch are compressed inside the tab you already have open, and a 40 MB batch never leaves your device.

Why we built it

Browsers grew up. WebAssembly made it possible to run MozJPEG, OxiPNG, libwebp, libavif and libjxl — the same open-source encoders the big services run on their servers — at full speed on the machine in front of you. Once that was true, uploading stopped being a technical necessity and became a habit. We built PixSip to break it.

What we do with your images

Nothing, because we never receive them. There is no upload endpoint, no bucket, no retention window to explain. Turn off your Wi-Fi after the page loads and the tool keeps working — which is the only proof of a privacy claim worth having.

Why it is usually faster

A 40 MB batch never goes over the wire, so there is no upload bar and no queue behind other people's jobs. On the free plan two images are encoded in parallel; Pro uses every core your machine has.

How we charge

Because nothing runs on our servers, no image costs us anything to compress — so we do not meter them. The free plan is generous on purpose, and Pro is priced for people who do this all day rather than once a quarter.
